As revealed in a recent interview with Al Feldstein in the Picto-Fiction EC set, he tells how he used the name Alfred E. Neuman as a non de plume in the Picto-Fiction titles and that Kurtzman used the name Alfred L. Neuman in Mad Magazine #27 (1955), so it was Feldstein that came up with the finalized AEN name. Ned
