Here's a snapshot of my 1966 Epiphone Serenader 12-string. I bought this guitar from a friend (Hi Bendixl) sometime in the early '70s, although I had lusted for it well before that. It's a wreck; the belly is caved in, there's a big crack in the top, and many of the tuning machines are bent and barely useable. About ten years ago I had a good luthier stableize everything, more or less. Anyhow, the guitar sounds very sweet, plays like a dream, and it's light as a feather. It can be tuned with much patience. I usually tune it to an open "D" to keep the tension a bit lighter. Lightest gauge strings, of course.
The picture on the right shows the color of the wood more accurately.
